Trials, Tribulations and Triumphs of being 3,473 Miles from Upton Park and West Ham United (Aug 2011 - May 2016)
"I'm sure despite my rah-ness we'll trip over our own big feet at some point so that will deflate any heads but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be stiltin' right now."What bright spark said that!!(very small) rah!Last week, outplayed Chelski, this week, played like Chelski.Nobody said being an Iron wasn't good cardiac exercise, better than The Cyclone.West Brom up next, business as usual, not a clue who's gonna show up.
Wotcha Smitty, you win this posts' Mick The Miller contest, your tin of Pedigree Chum is in the mail. Having watched on the box, I'd say the Scousers had the start and the finish and we had the middle. I'm not sure if Mo(jo) Diame hadn't pulled up, they wouldn't have beaten us. It may have ended up 3 All, but we would have come away with something. Still Ex-Hammers Johnson and Cole both scored good goals, as did Stevie G for us. On the plus side Carlton played a blinder and Jarvis is starting to whip those balls in. On the minus, Hammer of the moment Mojo may be out for some time - Alf will have to have a plot up for West Brom, who have been recently suffering from a dose of reality.
Ta very much, will be worth the effort when I get me breath back.Yeah, not a bad performance and a draw would have been fair, but.........All in all we're doing alright and it wouldn't be the same if we didn't have a crier once a month or so.
You're right Smitty I was getting a bit carried away, West Ham beating Chelsea and then Liverpool back to back ?
We should have come out with at least a draw, we really looked good besides in the very beginning and the end. Huge blow that Diame's out, be far our best player, but if carlton can play like that next game we might not need him.
I'm in 100% agreement with you Don't Hurt 'Em, there's talk that Mojo Diame may be out for 10 -12 weeks. Lets just hope that none of the Big Boys coming shopping for him in the January Sales. As for Carlton, I think it was the best performance by him I have ever seen, long may it continue.
Nah, wouldn't say carried away, we were looking good. I really thought we coulda had em.Didn't deserve to lose here either shoulda been a draw at worst.I think some of the Rah may be getting to Carlton, and others, woulda been criminal after last week to not put in everything you got and some when you know you CAN play with the big boys, and come out a winner.
Well now its up to the Black Country for a Sunday at West Brom Smitty. Sadly I hear that first team coach Wally Downes wont be there, he has left by "mutual consent" and I can only think he has had a job offer that's a step up. He seemed to get on well with Alf and the team and there's never been any rumours of friction, so I can't see what else it could be ? From the little I know he seems like a nice bloke, but I'll reserve wishing him well until I know where he's going.
I saw one thing in the press suggesting the crowd adapt the Old Clash song"Complete Control" as a chant for C.C. Aka "Can't control"......"C- A -N -T Control"..........
"Complete Control", the greatest song ever penned by Mick Jones!
So Club Penguins perhaps it should be a QPR Chant - howabout "They meant let's sign up 'Arry and worry about it later"
Right on Club P...I saw this in the guardian and they linked it to a video of them performing it, very early and raw....aaaah.
Filthy, if his performance against the Scousers falls under the category "Can't Control" let him C-A-N-T Control away. If we're nicking Clash songs I'd go with the chorus from Magnificent 7 "Carlton - What- Don't Stop Give it All You Got - Carlton - What - Don't Stop" !
Odd that, about Wally. Not a sniff of what, why or where. Usually all over the shop.
That's why I reckon he's got a new job Smitty, everyone keeping schtum as a favour ?
Well..Wally Downes spotting....he cropped up in the chelsea minute by minute report on the Guardian site today. I think Chelsea made a substitution and they said that "even Wally Downes could have called that one"....not very complimentary and a bit uncalled for I reckon. It was the 15th minute if you want to check it out.I'll let you know if I see him in town tomorrow!
Rumour...'cos Alf wants Steve Kean....Wally to reading......
As I'm sure you're aware Filthy, if you want crass behaviour, you can rely on the Stamford Bridge Mob to provide it ! All the prawn sandwiches and Pringle sweaters in the world can't hide that ! Have heard a whisper or two about Wally having bought a train ticket to Reading too, certainly looks like there's a job going there. If that is the case I would imagine it's more a matter of Alf wanting a replacement for Wally, than Wally falling on his sword. Steve Kean you say...
Nice outfits on those smoking rascals.
Nice to see you pop in Christian, some quality Jewish tailoring I wouldn't wonder and probably on the "never never".
A merry Christmas to you all...I'm disappearing until the second week in Jan. (and longer if the Mayans were right)
Ta Filth, You too.Solves the injury problems if they were.
Have a Yo Ho Holiday Filthy and if it all goes belly up, maybe I'll see you in the next dimension ? I wonder if they have football ?
