West Ham United v. Manchester United (FA Cup Quarter Final Replay)

  1. I think it more sprung a leak, and the wheels came off.
I think everyone from SS on out was just off enough.
Still, never a dull moment and always hope. 1/2 a yard back for Wile E and extra time and penalties.
I got no complaints this season and it ain't over yet.
    We'll be back tomorrow.

  2. Absolutely heartbreaking! But at least they gave it a go at the end, better than if they didn't show up at all!

  3. Maybe the Arsenal match took more out of us than I realized Smitty ? I was thinking of it as a primer and that we might kick on from there - but alas no. Thought they shaded the first half, but as my half time comment reveals (won't do that again) I still thought we could boss the second - wrong again.
If anything I think we were weaker in the second half until we scored and as we know that was too late.

  4. Saddest result since last time we got sent down for me Don't Hurt 'Em, but when Kouyate hit the back of the net as the clock hit 89 minutes, I was going absolutely mental until I noticed the offside call - which was actually correct !

  5. Yeah but all the time you knew it was on the cards that someone could've. Offside or no -you believed.
For all the disappointment, it would take a hard man to say we ain't got our money's worth this season. And it ain't over.

  6. No way, am I complaining Smitty. This season has been way beyond everybody's expectations - but if I'm granted one more wish it would be to beat Man U on their last visit to Green Street. Personally, I've never been able to get my head around us playing Champions League Football next season - sounds too surreal. But if we were to get a couple of more upgrades to the First Team, I do think we could have a go in the Europa. Far from over - COME ON YOU IRONS !!!!

  7. I agree, I thought the Cup was on the cards and was just about the right level of stepping stone before champo league in another year or so. On any day we could've beaten the Mancs, but it wasn't that day. Shame, and sad, BUT to feel disappointed because we know we can beat them is a giant step forward. Onwards and upwards!

  8. Oh, Mr P, who is it? (the bequiffed one?)

  9. "Onwards and upwards" appears to be the mood here on Saitch Filthy and I hope it is elsewhere too. As you can imagine I haven't been paying too much attention to Football since Wednesday. We will have to be on our toes against The Foxes today though as they like to break fast and/or play the long ball to Vardy when he's already at speed. They will be well aware we don't have a kosher right back.
